Welcome to the Children's Research Triangle

Community Outreach

Our therapy team provides outreach services to some of Chicago’s more underserved communities, including Lawndale and Englewood thanks to The Illinois Attorney General’s Violent Crime Victims Assistance Program and generous grants from the McCormick Tribune Foundation-Holiday Fund and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Foundation.

In 2005, we ran a Trauma-Focused Empowerment Group for women as well as a Parent-Child Preschool Group at Rainbow House, a domestic violence shelter for women and children.

This past year, we provided free violence prevention and educational workshops to several foster parent, child-care provider, and child welfare groups. Some of the topics included Teen Dating Violence, Child Sexual Abuse and Children Exposed to Violence.

We are currently collaborating with Family Focus Lawndale and Family Focus Englewood to provide more clinical services to children and their caregivers affected by community and/or interpersonal violence. Our goal is to provide specialized trauma-focused services for children and families in these communities who have limited access to therapeutic interventions.
